Once again, another 3-day weekend, albeit the last one until Memorial Day. This time I'm thanking presidents. I know it's been a bit since I last updated, whoops.
Anjanette was here last weekend, and we had a really great time. She was able to come to one of Roundabout's opening nights and see another one of our shows (Sunday in the Park with George) on Saturday with me. Other than that, we went around the village, headed to the top of Rockefeller Plaza (excellent view), did some shopping and ate some good food. Very nice, overall, and she only got a few blisters from walking!
This week was Alex's birthday, so we celebrated this weekend by going out on the town. Other than that, I've had a relaxing weekend, mostly staying indoors because of the large amounts of rain. Apparently we get April showers in February here.
One exciting purchase I made this weekend was a cookbook called How to Cook Everything. It's huge and is apparently one of the best all-inclusive-take-to-a-desert-island-type books. Even though I have a knack for picking roommates that are fabulously gifted in the kitchen, I'm now making a conscious effort to improve my own culinary skills. I'll let you know how that goes...
We are finally furnished here. Our Ikea delivery came last weekend when Anj and I were out shopping, and when we returned, Alex had assembled the coffee table, bookshelf and entry table! I was impressed. Now, all we have to do is hang our mirror in the entry (which we are planning on doing this afternoon), and then we will be as furnished as we are going to get for now.
Work is going well: I'm getting more and more responsibility as the weeks pass, and now I'm actually writing some of the smaller grant proposals from beginning to end. I'm glad that they're liking my work. This Thursday is the opening for Sunday in the Park with a party following at the Sheraton, so we're all looking forward to that.

Ugh, I just had the best comment written here and the web lost it...gotta hate that. Anyway, I am glad you had a great time with your big/little sister last weekend, (I have to be politically correct don't I?). Sounded like a lot of fun. Wish I could get out to visit you, but that is as much wishful thinking this year for my birthday as you coming home any time soon. We will see...maybe next year I can get out there to celebrate my 36th birthday with you...that will be just as fun...right? Well take care of yourself, miss you, stay well, enjoy NYC and luv you lots, auntie karenk
